The property
Kevalli House is situated on 11+ acres of oceanfront land on Stocking Island, the barrier island that forms Elizabeth Harbor. Because there are no motorized vehicles on the island and access is by boat only, much of the land on Stocking Island is pristine. This five-mile-long island has very few home sites of which Kevalli House is the furthest west.
A pavilion at the highest point on the property, 65 feet, offers a panoramic view of Elizabeth Harbor, the neighboring islands, and open waters of the ocean. This venue is a truly amazing setting for special occasions (see our weddings page) and for appreciating the land and seascape. Looking down on the beach directly behind Kevalli House, there is a great view of a very rare stromatolite reef, a kind of “living rock” thought to be one of the oldest forms of life on the planet and known to exist in just a few places in the world.
At low tide the reef forms beautiful natural soaking pools along the shore, which can be quite a relaxing place to enjoy the crystal clear waters. On land, you are surrounded by native trees and amazing stonework. The numerous hues of blue in the sky and waters provide a backdrop of peace and tranquility.
Kevalli House has two lovely accommodation options on the property. The Cottages are a cluster of several buildings with two private wings and adjoining porches. The Cottages are well-suited for two couples. The Guest House is a newly renovated private bungalow on the eastern side of the property. It offers waterside living and a spacious wrap around porch. The Guest House is best suited for a family of four. Both the cottages and guest house have access to the hill top pavilion, beach deck, and docks as well as snorkeling and paddling equipment.
